Machine Operator

As a Machine Operator at RLS, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring a variety of equipment and manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production of high-quality parts. This role includes inspecting products for quality, meeting production targets, maintaining accurate records, and safely handling materials throughout the production process.

This 2nd Shift Machine Operator position schedule: M-F 4:30pm - 2:30am (Occasional Saturdays due to production needs)

Key Responsibilities:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • General Operations:
    • Operate various RLS machines and processes according to company standards.
    • Use measuring instruments to verify product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
    • Document production totals, run rates, and quality checks on controlled forms.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Specific Equipment Operations:
    • OMS: Monitor machine operation and product specs, move completed totes to staging, track and record hourly production rates.
    • Bender: Load and monitor auto hopper, track part specifications, move completed parts to the next stage, and record output.
    • Cup & Trim: Load parts into die, operate cycle, remove and inspect trimmed parts, and ensure tooling cleanliness.
    • HydroForm: Load parts into dies, cycle machine, inspect and clean formed parts, and record production data.
    • SpinForm: Position parts on spin tooling, operate via foot switch, rotate and cycle as required, and inspect completed parts.
    • Inspect: Use visual measurement equipment, separate good from scrap parts, and maintain accurate counts.
    • Etch: Load inspected parts onto etch stands, operate etching cabinet, inspect laser marks, and stage baskets for annealing.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality inspection tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift/move materials and stand for extended periods.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs., normal manual dexterity, vision and color acuity.
