Looking for your first step into the rail industry? We're offering 12-month Fixed-Term Contracts for Station Control Assistants at London Bridge Managed Station—an exciting entry-level opportunity to experience the fast-paced, behind-the-scenes world of station operations.

You'll play a key role in the smooth running of one of the UK's busiest stations, monitoring critical systems and delivering clear, accurate information to passengers, staff, and partners.

About the role (External)

What you'll be doing:

  • Deliver timely service updates to passengers via station information systems
  • Keep station teams and train operators informed during service disruption
  • Communicate essential safety and security messages to the public
  • Operate and monitor station equipment, including CCTV, fire panels, customer help points, and car park systems
  • Log and report equipment faults to the appropriate teams promptly
  • Liaise with signalling centres and train operators to track train services
  • Support the wider station team with operational duties
  • Play a key role during incidents, fulfilling responsibilities set out in our Emergency Plans

What you'll need:

  • A clear, confident communication style with strong English (written and spoken)
  • Great teamwork skills and a calm, focused approach under pressure
  • Experience working in a public-facing or customer service role
  • The ability to handle and prioritise complex information in a fast-moving environment

It's a bonus if you also have:

  • An eye for accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of train services and UK rail geography

Important to note:

These roles require enhanced security vetting. To be eligible, you'll need to have a continuous 3-year address history within the UK.
