Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field: A degree in a relevant field is required, with a focus on computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in AI/ML or software engineering: Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying AI and machine learning models, with a strong understanding of AI engineering principles and practices.
  • 1+ years of leadership experience: Demonstrated leadership experience in managing high-performing teams, with a focus on AI engineering, software development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of AI platforms and architectures: Experience with Kubernetes, AI platforms, architectures, and frameworks, including cloud-based solutions and containerization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience AI Engineering dicipline and familiarity with Lockheed Martin's AI initiatives
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C++
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab)
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization
  • Experience with large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI applications
  • Familiarity with model interpretability, explainability, and transparency

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $147,400 - $255,530. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
