Lead/Staff Platform Engineer (m/f/d) - SCAYLE Platform - onsite in Hamburg or Berlin

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a Lead/Staff Platform Engineer who will join our Cloud Platform Team at SCAYLE (onsite Hamburg/Berlin) and have a transformative influence on the way we build, operate and run our platform.

The Cloud Platform team is responsible for managing our global SaaS headless e-commerce multi-tenant platform. The platform occasionally sees traffic peaks that require several hundred nodes, to serve customer traffic demand. The team’s charter is to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 availability of the platform, as well as proactively help advance it, by adding additional capabilities or improving existing ones.

Our team has a big impact on the entire organization with their contributions to automation and helping us run as efficiently as possible.

What you will do:

  • Lead and contribute to internal architectural decisions
  • Conduct regular 1:1s
  • Maintain and continuously improve our AWS or Kubernetes infrastructure through code
  • Automate workflows using tools like GitlabCI, Terraform or others
  • Maintain documentation of infrastructure and operational processes.
  • Continuously improve our monitoring solutions spanning hundreds of environments.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, evaluate new technologies to enhance platform performance and reliability, and implement security best practices to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • You know how to safely leverage AI tooling to enhance and speed-up delivery.

Who you are:

  • At least 5+ years of experience as an Platform Engineer
  • Experience maintaining Unix/Linux servers.
  • Experience running Kubernetes at scale and the tooling ecosystem around it
  • Feels comfortable with Helm, Terraform, Go and Python.
  • Knowledge of security best practices.
  • Know how to use Gitlab in your daily routine.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • “Automation” is how you do everything.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and a proactive approach.
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written

Due to the upcoming tasks and responsibilities for this position, it is required to work onside from our office in Hamburg or Berlin. Therefore we’ve implemented a hybrid working model that allows us to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays and to work onsite from Tuesday to Thursday.
