Position Description

Plan and develop daily business functions for various departments within the athletic organization. Ensure the athletic organization maintains a favorable public and stakeholder perception while fulfilling the organization's strategic mission.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Install, configure, and manage applications used by Athletics Employees and Student Athletes. Perform security patching and upgrades as needed or requested by management or end-users.
  • Serve as a manager of the Athletics IT equipment inventory. Fully document equipment custodians and locations. Obtain, archive, and manage all required department and University forms for IT equipment.
  • Serve as a manager of Student Athlete IT equipment provided and maintained by TTU Athletics. Ensure sufficient stock of devices and prepare them for distribution or return. Work with Sport contacts to coordinate routine inventories of Student-Athlete IT equipment. Work with users and/or vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues relating to Student Athlete IT equipment.
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with management, team members, and others to ensure excellent customer service and timely completion of projects and support requests.
  • Stay current with new technology and serve as a technical consultant to the department, providing assistance, information, suggestions, and recommendations on departmental technology matters.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.
  • Comply with NCAA, Big XII, Departmental, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience. All related experience will be considered.
  • Intermediate level analytical skills, including process description, logic, problem diagnostics, and problem solving.
  • Intermediate technology hardware and software competency.
  • Training in fundamental and advanced hardware and software support through education or experience.
  • Ability to: exercise judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities; plan and organize effectively, prioritize goals, use time efficiently, and stay on task; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by the athletics calendar.
