As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Tech Group, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drive decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Add to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages, including Java and Spring Boot
  • Experienced in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies and their application in the financial services industry

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with cloud technologies, data analytics, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Python proficiency is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial services industry.
  • Problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
