ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Principal Azure Solutions Architect to join our team in Herndon, VA. In this leadership position, you will design and implement secure, scalable, mission-aligned cloud solutions that support our clients’ critical objectives. You will collaborate directly with federal stakeholders, technology vendors, and senior leadership to craft Azure and multi-cloud architectures that meet stringent federal cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Engage directly with federal stakeholders and technology vendors to understand mission priorities and translate them into secure, cloud-native architectures on Azure and AWS
- Design end-to-end Azure-based solutions encompassing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components aligned with compliance standards (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, CMMC, etc.)
- Lead architecture reviews and technical solutioning sessions with both internal teams and client representatives
- Provide technical leadership on the design, implementation, and optimization of solutions
- Collaborate with federal customers and the technology vendor to integrate third-party services and ensure interoperability
- Guide DevSecOps practices and automation strategies using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps
- Stay ahead of cloud trends, emerging technologies, and evolving federal cybersecurity mandates
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or 4+ additional years of IT experience in lieu of degree
- 8+ years of experience in IT architecture
- 5+ years focused on Microsoft Azure in enterprise or government environments
- Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks and policies (e.g., FedRAMP, FISMA, RMF, Zero Trust Architecture)
- Proven experience designing and implementing mission-critical solutions for U.S. federal agencies
- Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, including executive briefings and technical presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certifications
- Prior experience supporting DoD, IC, or Federal/Civilian agencies
- Experience with containers, Kubernetes (AKS), and microservices architectures
- Understanding of identity and access management using Azure AD, ADFS, and PIV/CAC
- Experience working with Microsoft Government Cloud offerings (Azure Government, Microsoft 365 GCC High)
Clearance Requirements:
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret or higher-level security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
