Position Description

Assists with the review, analysis, collection, coding and entering of state traffic crash records utilizing the Crash Records Information System (CRIS) in the Traffic Safety Division. Performs complex customer service work. Performs advanced and complex clerical work and performs variety of office operations including mailing, correspondence, developing procedures and guidelines. Work involves communicating information electronically and telephonically. Work requires contact with national, state and local governmental agencies, law enforcement agencies, private entities and extensive contact with the public. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Essential Duties:

Program Support Services Tech I, A15 $38,976 - $58,045

  • Assists in reviewing and interpreting officer's description of the crash and determines the appropriate codes to enter into the crash record.
  • Verifies the accuracy of the vendor's data entry group and returns the report to either the vendor or the law enforcement officer for correction.
  • Reviews customer purchases for redacted crash images and redacts personally identifiable information.
  • Processes, logs and distributes incoming mail.
  • Tests Crash Records Information System applications related to crash records to provide end-user feedback.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Program Support Services Tech II, A17 $42,976 - $64,469

  • All of the above including:
  • Reviews, analyzes and codes state traffic crash records utilizing Crash Records Information System or other databases.
  • Processes, records and corresponds with customers for subpoenas and/or affidavit requests.
  • Notarizes and maintains accurate records of all notarial acts.
  • Maintains timely, accurate, and effective communication with Finance Division for payment processing.
  • Verifies and provides governmental entities that meet the requirements the release of a crash report request.
  • Assists in reviewing and interpreting officer's description of the crash and determines the appropriate codes to enter into the crash record.
  • Verifies the accuracy of the vendor's data entry group and returns the report to either the vendor or the law enforcement officer for correction.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education. College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

Program Support Services Tech I: 1 year of experience in data review, data entry, research/problem solving, customer focused or related administrative activities.

Program Support Services Tech II: 3 years data review, data entry, research/problem solving, customer focused or related administrative activities.

(Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
  • Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
  • working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand
  • Talking expressing or exchanging ideas by spoken words
  • Hearing-perceive sound at normal speaking levels;receive information by oral communication
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
