Grand Canyon Education is seeking a Network Administrator to support the IT Operations department. The Network Administrator provide server infrastructure and endpoint operations teams with network support for day to day operations and special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Aid in new deployment projects.
- Provide day to day maintenance and administration activities for network devices.
- Provide server infrastructure and endpoint operations teams with network support for day to day operations and special projects.
- Support two or more datacenter locations’ ongoing operations.
- Documentation of cabling, monitoring and various applications and support policies.
- Expected to interact with and become familiar with various network monitoring applications/appliances such as Spectrum, ActiveXperts, Cacti, and Sensatronics environmental monitors.
- Works with the manager to maintain a high level of customer service and continual improvement.
- Will often be required to work off hours to mitigate impact to end users and be “on call”, available for emergency situations.
- Provide end user support for network related issues.

Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret incoming alert notifications.
- Mathematical Skills.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry certifications from Microsoft and Cisco are recommended.
- Familiarity with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Must have experience with a Cisco network environment.
- Must have experience in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Experience in Linux environments a plus.
