JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the IT Architect is to provide technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices including:
- Enable business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization.
- Strive to automate all processes thus minimizing IT infrastructure labor throughout the enterprise.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of enterprise-wide policies for technology standards and practices.
- Development and maintenance of information security policy.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the enterprise business strategy.
- Reviews and/or analyzes and develops architectural requirements as needed for the organization.
- Ensures the conceptual completeness of the technical solutions.
- Participate in IT Infrastructure management meetings with Global IT Architect & Cybersecurity Director.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of company’s IT management systems.
- Develop, document, communicate and enforce technology standards policies and procedures.
- Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across multiple specialized architecture domains.
- Research emerging technologies in support of infrastructure development efforts and recommend technologies that will improve information security, reduce labor, increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
- Conduct security research in keeping abreast of latest security issues.
- Design, develop, document, and oversee implementation of enterprise-wide IT systems.
- Manages exceptions to architectural standards at an enterprise level.
- Leads teams in developing technology plans.
- Provide training for infrastructure team members on enterprise-wide IT systems.
- Search out new ways to improve information security, reduce labor and increase cost effectiveness of the enterprise-wide infrastructure team.
- Ensure the availability and responsiveness of the Global communications network to meet the goals and objectives of the enterprise.
- Deploy systems in a safe and secure manner to protection company assets.
- Develop and publish Information Security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements.
- Participate in the creation, maintenance, and testing of enterprise-wide disaster recovery plans.
- Provide second level support for global infrastructure team as needed.
- Support of IT operations after hours 24 x 7 on an emergency basis.
- Willingness to travel to other Stoneridge locations to provide temporary IT support when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- IT designations and active certifications a plus.
- Ten years work experience in an IT position, preferably enterprise-level and familiarity with automotive manufacturing sites.
- Proven experience in IT systems design and development.
- Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices.
- In-depth technical knowledge of cloud, network, PC, and platform operating systems.
- Expert knowledge of IT management systems.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft System Center technologies.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Technologies including cloud technologies.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services.
- Proven Active Directory and PowerShell scripting abilities.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
