What you'll be doing...

As Associate Director of the National Consumer Product and Adjacent Services communications team, this role will be responsible for communications strategy and execution in support of Verizon Consumer communications team, with accountability for strategic planning support, development and execution of integrated communications plans specific to consumer devices, accessories and adjacent services that drive consumer business results and build loyalty among customers, partners and prospects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and help implement comprehensive earned, paid and owned strategic communications strategies for national consumer-led product and services, including relationships with OEMs, media relations and creative content.
  • Lead content development and creative application of ongoing narratives that speak to key product offerings and themes. .
  • Liaison for consumer-driven CMO activities related to devices, accessories and adjacent services, with a key partnership role on major consumer led -brand activations.
  • Work cross functionally with local market and segment teams to cascade new product offerings and positioning.
  • Drive internal collaboration cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders (marketing, IR, policy, network, employee engagement, etc.) to maximize impact and ensure an integrated approach to all campaigns and launches.
  • Drive strategy and media relations specific to product and special projects, including developing and maintaining relationships with trade, consumer and lifestyle outlets.
  • Management and leadership of team members, responsible for their learning and development.
  • Partner with external agencies to create and execute communications plans that drive business results.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with influential audiences including external partners, and cross-functional internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience in leadership and team development.
  • Client facing experience.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with the press.
  • Experience working on complex product launches alongside large-scale events and activations.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Background in consumer products, tech or marketing.
  • Strong reporter relationships.
  • Tech and consumer event experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans that go beyond traditional public relations.
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering consistently high quality work.
  • Effective communication skills for all levels of the organization.
  • Written, oral and presentation skills.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $125,500.00 - $219,000.00.
