What you will be doing...

We seek a highly accomplished engineer and subject matter expert in IoT Products, RAN and Core network monitoring, focusing on Automotive Solutions and ThingSpace Platform. In this role, you will lead the work on architecture, requirements, design, development, and testing.

• Partnering and collaborating with business stakeholders to understand and translate their needs into technical requirements.
• Leading and mentoring a team of engineers to develop and deliver innovative solutions that enhance Thingspace and network performance monitoring capabilities.
• Serving as the primary subject matter expert for Thingspace and Core network.
• Designing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive API strategy for the Thingspace and network data exchange and insights.
• Consolidating duplicate code bases and replacing them with a shareable, domain-focused API layer for performance data, improving code maintainability and reusability.
• Monitoring and analyzing network performance data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential issues, providing insights for proactive problem resolution.
• Designing a consolidated domain-focused API layer for network performance data
• Developing big data pipelines for network telemetry
• Iterating and deploy prototypes for sharable APIs
• Working closely with the GraphQL team to provide APIs that meet the needs of UI design
• Setting a direction for API structure of domain services using NodeJS & TypeScript
• Leading the discovery efforts across various existing applications to understand their existing
• APIs and use this to create a plan for consolidating to shareable domain APIs.
• Creating design diagrams and documentation
• Managing multiple simultaneous projects and designs

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in IoT, container-based software development using microservices architecture.
• Experience in RAN networks, with a deep understanding of network protocols, architectures, and performance metrics.
• Experience in Domain Driven Design.
• Expertise in network performance data analysis, including data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• experience in Thorough knowledge of Verizon's System Performance practices and methodologies.
• Experience with Device Performance, Transport Performance, Core Performance, and IMS Performance is also welcome but not the role's primary function.
• Strong technical skills in software development, including proficiency in API design, development, and testing.
• Experience in CI/CD process.
• Know-how of one or more database technologies like Cassandra, Couchbase, MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL. In-depth knowledge in Cassandra.
• Experience in machine learning model development and solving complex problems using AI/ML techniques.
• Experience in open source, micro services, and distributed computing technologies, such as REST, NoSQL, Kafka, Spark, Cassandra and AWS/GCP services
• Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous integrations, including real/near real time event streaming through Kafka or other streaming technologies, for persisting omni session and journey touch points.
• Experience with RTT (Real-time Tool), nGenius, VisionX, Truecall, xLPT, Airwave (SP/DP/SE).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with 3GPP networks.
• Expert-level experience with RAN networks.
• Fundamental knowledge of telecom networks.
• Experience in API design which is extensible and ability to expose APIs publicly/externally, if desired
• Experience evaluating various different technology platforms for consideration
• Industry knowledge of best practices for domain driven design
• Works closely with partner vendors and engineering firms.
