Join IU Health and play a vital role in ensuring our operations support exceptional patient care. As a Project Manager in Design and Construction, you will lead projects that promote safety, wellness, and community health, directly contributing to the physical environment where healing happens.

About The Role

The Project Manager oversees construction projects up to $10 million, focusing primarily on projects under $1 million. You will be responsible for program development, budgeting, scheduling, and managing project teams. You will support designs that enhance patient care and safety, ensuring projects align with IU Health’s mission of promoting wellness. Additionally, you will negotiate contracts, manage construction documents, and maintain comprehensive recordkeeping, serving as a technical resource for the Facilities Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop project programs, prepare budgets, and oversee project schedules.
  • Manage and coordinate project teams, including internal staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Support project design that prioritizes patient, staff, and visitor safety, aligning with IU Health’s mission.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and contractors.
  • Maintain all construction documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Ensure projects meet applicable regulations, including NFPA Life Safety, ISDH Regulations, AIA Guidelines, Building Codes, and ADA standards.
  • Provide technical expertise in construction management, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in construction project management.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of business, management, finance, and project cost control techniques.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations such as NFPA, ISDH, AIA, International Building Code, and ADA.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed.
