Job Description: The Senior Systems Engineer - M365 will collaborate with operational teams to optimize and secure Microsoft 365 product suites, encompassing communications, collaboration, productivity, security and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will possess technical background in cloud services with strong knowledge in Entra ID, SSO, MFA, Enterprise Mobility, Information Protection, Information Rights, DLP etc.
This position requires an emphasis on infrastructure problem management, project management, as well as building and maintaining positive business relationships with IT organizations, clients, and vendors. This will require a strong passion for enhancing user experiences through innovative technology solutions and service excellence. Fulfillment of responsibilities must be performed with a minimum amount of supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
System Engineering:
- Design, implement, and manage M365 services
- Monitor and troubleshoot M365 platform issues, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Manage outages, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve all M365 platform issues within defined service levels.
- Proactively identify and remediate security risks related to the platform and product suites.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for M365 configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and business units to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions that enhance productivity.
- Stay current with Microsoft 365 updates and features, recommending continuous improvements and new functionalities.
- Lead cross-functional projects and contribute to strategic planning for future M365 initiatives.
- Develop key performance metrics to drive business value of IT.
- Conduct user training and provide technical support to ensure effective use of M365 tools.
IT Operations Support:
- Responsible for Finastra’s M365 tenant.
- Participate in change control processes.
- Develop operational procedures and policies.
- Communicate change requests, issues, resolutions, event status, and other important matters to all areas of IT and customer departments.
- Identify, resolve, and escalate business issues as appropriate.
- Serve as an escalation point for the operations support team.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Contributions to project plans for medium to large-sized M365 projects.
- Provide oral and written status reports to relevant stakeholders and IT Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the IT industry, working with major systems and vendors.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Entra ID, Exchange.
- Intermediate knowledge with Mobile Device Management (MDM) using Intune.
- Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Security Products (Defender, Entra, Purview, Priva).
- Basic knowledge with PowerShell, Graph API configurations.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform product suites, identity and federation services, and cloud security.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and other areas of the IT environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong decision-making skills, and sound judgment.
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to deliver on time.
- Experience with infrastructure as code/configuration management is a plus.
- Programming experience is a plus.
