Position Description:

Designs, develops, tests, deploys, maintains, and improves customer-facing software solutions using front-end web-based technologies, test automation tools, frameworks (Angular.js, React.js, Node.js, and CSS), and HTML. Maintains document-based databases and relational databases using MongoDB and MariaDB. Deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and practices (GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible and Docker). Analyzes, designs, and implements software systems and engineering solutions using Object-Oriented (OO) methodologies by applying Unified Modeling Language (UML). Develops and migrates applications into cloud-based platforms (Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack software web applications within a micro-service architecture environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing full stack software web applications within a micro-service architecture environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing, building, testing, and deploying Node.js, Typescript, Golang, and Protobufs-based web services, microservices, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) -- to create full-stack web applications within a scrum-based Agile and CI/CD environment -- using AWS Cloud services within Docker containers (AWS ECS, S3, and Application Load Balancer), client-side frameworks (React and Micro-frontends), and server-side technologies (Express middle-wares, Tsoa, Content Delivery Network (CDN), and API Gateways).
  • DE designing and developing low-latency, high throughput HTTP-based microservices and Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs) using relational databases (PostgreSQL and CockroachDB), non-relational databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis), and service providers (Equifax and PayPal) while utilizing secure frameworks and standards (RBAC, Oauth2, JWT, and Open Policy Agents) to build cloud-based brokerage platforms (within multi-tenant environments).
  • DE architecting event-based design and background job developments using message brokers, queues (Kafka, EventBridge, and SQS), and schedulers (Agenda jobs and Control-M) with cloud native technologies on an AWS platform; and building asynchronous data processing services in a domain driven environment, using monitoring and observability tools (Datadog and Distributed tracing) and Command line.
  • DE developing and maintaining toolchains, documentation, and deployment pipelines for containerized applications on Continuous Integration (CI) platforms, using build tools (Git, Webpack, Swagger, Tsoa, and Yaml), deployment tools (Jenkins, Cloudformation, and AWS CDK), packaging tools (NPM, Artifactory, and Helm), and automation tools (Jest, Jasmine, Junit, and Code coverage) to automate platform services, software releases, and enforce code quality within a DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) environment.

Salary: $144,850.00 - $154,850.00/year.
