Position Description:

Develops software applications using Java, C#, .Net, JavaScript, Spring MVC/Core, XML/JSON, and Angular frameworks. Develops Web applications using Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Qauth2.0. Operates in Web frameworks, including HTML, CSS, jQuery, Typescript, Angular, Docker, and Kubernetes. Designs, implements, and employs Maven, SonarQube, Jenkins, Udeploy, Docker, GIT, Artifactory, Sonar, or Kubernetes. Interprets requirements and builds middle and back-end web applications using Java tech stacks. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposing modifications and improvements based on user need.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing Web-based applications in a financial or technology services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) implementing Web-based applications in a financial or technology services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing backend systems programming using Java, and Spring or SpringBoot (for Web application development); and performing system integration, data processing, and type format conversion using XML or JSON.
  • DE performing frontend development to build Web-based applications, using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS; and performing advanced client-side logic using JavaScript for creation of graphical User Interfaces (UIs).
  • DE testing, monitoring, writing, and executing unit tests for Java code, using JUnit; and performing unit test scenarios for mocking objects, using Mockito.
  • DE performing database design and creating or modifying database objects (to develop queries, retrieve data, and perform standard data operations) using SQL.
