Position Description:

Designs, builds, and implements software application components, using Amazon Web Services (AWS) Services. Writes clean, testable, and robust code by leveraging programming tools and frameworks -- Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Spring, Web Services, and SQL. Develops databases using PL/SQL for Oracle. Automates DevOps processes and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment CI/CD pipelines using tools -- GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, Stash, and Docker. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposes modifications and improvements based on user need. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Build Integration and Continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) of designing and developing Java micro services, using Java 8+, Spring Framework, AWS Services, Kafka, and PL SQL.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) of designing and developing Java micro services, using Java 8+, Spring Framework, AWS Services, Kafka, and PL SQL.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and building enterprise applications, using APIs and REST-ful services; and adapting Spring boot micro-service architecture within large-scale services systems with Agile methodologies, using Java 8+ and J2EE technologies -- Spring, Maven, AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • DE building, deploying, and supporting financial service applications, using GIT, Jenkins, DevOps, and uDeploy; managing source code version control, using GIT; and automating the Continuous Integration (CI) of build, deploy, and test process of Web applications, using Cloud Formation Templates, Jenkins, DevOps, and uDeploy.
  • DE developing, testing, and performance tuning Web and database applications, using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Java in a financial domain.
  • DE performing production install, solving production issues, and supporting Production Apps -- monitoring Logs using Dynatrace or Datadog and Putty, and validating Production install.
