Position Description:

Builds, tests, and engineers Web applications using modern technologies -- Angular, Node.js, REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and Java. Develops automation test scripts using Java. Implements Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Unit testing using frameworks and tools -- Junit, Jasmine, Karma, CSS/SASS, and Protractor. Builds and deploys applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins, Maven, and uDeploy. Defines, maintains, and supports the Java development environment and best practices, using Maven and Sonar. Recreates environments and data, using Cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services (AWS)) and API testing tools (SoapUI and Postman). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and testing Web applications and services using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles for Java and Angular in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one year (1) of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing and testing Web applications and services using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles for Java and Angular in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing responsive Web components for customer-facing Web applications, using Angular, HTML, and CSS.
  • DE performing manual and automated testing for Web applications and REST services, using Cypress, Jasmine, Karma, Rest Assured, unit testing frameworks (Junit), and Selenium.
  • DE configuring continuous build and integration flows using Git, Jenkins, Maven, and Artifactory in a UNIX environment (Linux) within CI/CD pipelines; and scripting automated application deployment flows by developing and deploying containerized applications to Kubernetes, using AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) within Cloud-based infrastructures.
  • DE using and monitoring analytics tools (Splunk) to identify and resolve application errors, analyze API performance for API-driven application optimization, and improve data retrieval times.
