The position of CIBBR Program Director will provide administrative, financial, and logistical support for the Center of Integrated Biomedical and Bioengineering Research (CIBBR). This position will work directly with the Principal Investigator and Leadership Team.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Fiscal Management:

  • Serve as the CIBBR administrative manager of a multi-million-dollar annual budget and cost share consisting of multiple individual funds.
  • Initiate and direct planning of annual organizational budgets.
  • Manage existing funds and revise budgets as needed, prepare budgets for new projects and grant activities, develop annual projections, prepare periodic reports, initiate payments for vendors and external collaborators, oversee complex financial transactions such as cost share, implement budget adjustments and revenue transfers as needed.
  • Coordinate with UNH Procurement the solicitation of bids for purchasing equipment, negotiating contract pricing, and delivery.

Strategic Communication:

  • Responsible for managing the flow of communication for the CIBBR.
  • Develop and implement channels of communication with the Leadership Team, staff, CIBBR investigators, the Advisory Committee, External Scientific Mentors, and external evaluators. Promote effective communication with UNH departments and colleges , external stakeholders, the general public, and the program sponsor (NIH).
  • Additional responsibilities include creating surveys; collecting, collating, and analyzing data; and preparing reports for the sponsor (NIH), CIBBR participants, and stakeholders to track the progress of the CIBBR in implementing the programming and research described in the grant.
  • Create content for and maintain the Center website and manage social media pages for the Center.

Management Operations/Supervision:

  • Responsible for implementing the activities funded by the sponsor.
  • Serve as the administrative liaison with university and college administrators, faculty, and the office of Sponsored Programs to implement office procedures, resolve questions and problems, and implement policies to ensure compliance with the sponsor’s terms and conditions as well as compliance with UNH policies.
  • Manage the daily operations of the CIBBR office and associated personnel to implement the activities stipulated in the grant.
  • Additional responsibilities include working with other units both on and off campus to interpret, coordinate, and respond as needed to ensure compliance with UNH policies/regulations and with those of the sponsor (NIH).
  • This position will includes direct supervision of students and adjunct staff appointed to the CIBBR.

Meeting/Event Management:

  • Oversee the scheduling and set up for various monthly meetings, external speaker events, workshops and conferences.

Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, program management, or a scientific field (biomedical science or bioengineering) relevant to the Center, and 5 years of progressively responsible related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and budget management. Facility with computerized financial record-keeping systems. Demonstrated expertise in managing grant-funded programs.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office 365, website building software applications, database management programs, and software applications appropriate for the generation and dissemination of promotional materials.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with Center Leadership Team, CIBBR-affiliated faculty and staff, external partners, stakeholders, and the general public.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Strict attention to detail and problem-solving skills in all aspects of a complex project.
  • Agility in prioritizing multiple demands within a complex dynamic academic work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, program administration, or relevant scientific discipline.
  • Administrative experience in a university, research, or other institutional setting.
