Responsibilities
The Safety & Security Operations Coordinator works in the safety & security operations center, makes access badges, answers the safety & security hotline, watches security cameras, does security video investigations, monitors global safety and security concerns, conducts safety & security compliance audits, and other activities related to the safety and security of the InnovAge facilities. The position reports to our Director, Safety & Security.
Position is based out of the Lowry Corporate Offices in Denver, CO.
Emergency Preparedness Duties – 40%
- Monitor global safety and security concerns that affect our offices or employees using a global threat management platform.
- Assist in the communication of critical incidents ranging from extreme weather conditions, political instability, crime, terror, and sudden onset disasters utilizing crisis management response plans.
- Helps facilitate company-wide coordination in response to any potential crisis while supporting management with continuous information on the incident.
- Coordinate with internal and external security, emergency services law enforcement personnel when required.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting and updates to ongoing incidents.
- Communicate globally with employees using the emergency notification system.
- Follow escalation procedures to both internal and external security and safety teams, as well as to support partners within the company.
- Carrying out safety and security procedures, and when appropriate, emergency response activities
Physical Security Duties – 40%
- Use critical thinking and multi-tasking techniques to ensure a comprehensive security posture.
- Provides physical access control badge administration and access management to employees across the company portfolio.
- Monitors all alarms, CCTV, access control, phone lines, life safety and other monitoring systems in order to promptly respond to all reports and information in regards to theft, alarms, accidents, hazardous material releases, fires and other incidents that may occur.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner.
- Conduct investigative video reviews and report findings.
- Dispatch security, fire, EMS, or other response personnel as required.
- Respond to and assess security alarms or emergency alarms, emergency situations, first responder; secure ingress and egress situations.
Safety – 20%
- Conducts Safety compliance audits, ensuring adherence to InnovAge policies and applicable Federal, State and Local regulations and standards.
- Provides administrative support and performs general office duties as assigned.
- Additional work functions and duties may be assigned.
REQUIRED
- 2+ yrs in corporate global security operations centers, 911 dispatch or other similar experience
- Expertise using CCTV, visitor, and access management systems
- Experience tracking and documenting incidents or events in a security or dispatch setting
- Understanding and experience within security industry standards, technologies, and systems (access control, video surveillance, etc.)
- Experience answering inbound phone calls and knowledge of multiline phone systems
- Experience with standard office procedures including filing, record keeping and the use of standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers and fax machines required
- Superior customer service skills , organizational skills and collaborative style
- Ability to maintain professionalism at all times under stressful situations
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
- Ability to handle crisis situations, calmly and efficiently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point, Visio and Microsoft Outlook software.
- High School diploma or GED.
