Multimedia Design Assistant II (Part-Time) Department of Psychiatry

  • Assists in migrating our current website from the Quickstart 1.0/Drupal 7 platform to Quickstart 2.0/Drupal 10.
  • Creating promotional communications collateral for department programs (including its fellowships, continuing education events, research programs, internal and external events, alumni outreach, and more) - via newsletters, social media, graphic design, marketing, direct email, creating & editing videos, more; includes meetings to plan and implement.
  • Assists in coordinating Grand Rounds: creating flyers and Facebook graphics, posting Grand Rounds on the website event pages and University channels, back-up/assist in managing the presenters’ paperwork, working with BioCommunications to set up streaming links and post-event video editing, archiving presentations on the website, tracking attendance and completed tasks via a clean and orderly Excel spreadsheet.
  • PowerPoint slides, event reports, metrics for social media accounts and website analytics. Assisting with event planning, graphics, production, and post-production.
  • Database management for listservs, outreach, mailing lists; website updating and maintenance, maintaining program pages (education, research, events), faculty and staff profile pages, news and events pages, etc.

  • Adept in graphic design and knowledge of image standards (sized and file types) across print, web, and video platforms.
  • Knowledgeable of and adherence to U of A branding guidelines.
  • High level of detail orientation in producing our communication materials.
  • Be well-organized with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and pivot between projects based on sifting deadline demands, and finish tasks to completion.
  • Understanding of multimedia storage, digital archiving standards, and media inventory management.
  • Follow written and verbal directions closely.
  • Responsive to email/chat/text communication.
  • Adhere to outlined expectations and directions.
  • Problem solving skills with ability to independently find information/content to complete tasks.
  • Open-minded to feedback and confidence in asking detailed questions.
  • Punctual.
  • Knowledge of mental health, illness, and psychiatric conditions is a major plus. Graphic design skills are imperative.
  • Attention to detail is a must, as is a good attitude, ability to take direction and constructive feedback. Self-directed, self-starter, good communicator, patient.

    • Google apps (Forms, Analytics, etc.)
    • Facebook best practices, Ads manager
