What you’ll do:

The Quality Technician position is responsible for ensuring that the product meets customer’s requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary take corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues. Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.

  • Promote the expectation that team members will consider the impact of their work/actions on others and make deliberate decisions to act in ways which prevent rework or constraints on the process.
  • The Quality Technician is a coach, cheerleader, and player on the team
  • Facilitate creation of systems and processes which enhance the team’s ability to meet customer expectations (identification of standards, creating of buy/sell agreements, audit processes, etc.)
  • Act as mediator when needed to clarify customer expectations or interpret standards
  • Perform Pre-Delivery Inspections of completed vehicles
  • Perform data entry, analysis, and sharing/explanation of same
  • Generate reports
  • Perform audits of new and existing processes
  • Document writing, control, and management
  • Facilitate/Participate in Root Cause Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Production Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Practical Problem Solving, etc. • Initiate non-conforming material documents for supplier quality issues
  • Assist in the execution of activities which promote continuous improvement and protect customers
  • Conduct training, information sharing and orientation sessions
  • Lead by example regarding safety and acting in the best interests of the team
  • Provide coverage for other technicians as needed
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

What you need to be successful:

  • High School Diplomas or GED required (Associates degree and/or CQT certification preferred)
  • Minimum 2-3 years related Quality Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of/ability to acquire a thorough understanding of customer expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent attendance
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read relevant measuring equipment
  • Provide appropriate feedback and documentation of any defects
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
  • Team oriented

Able to:

  • Read and understand Engineering documents such as part prints, assembly drawings
  • Work overtime on short notice

Be willing to:

  • Learn and rotate within all quality areas
  • Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)
  • Develop a working knowledge of company’s systems (example: AS/400, Sparcon)
