SCOPE: Under guidance from the technical lead and /or manager, this position will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of access controls and security for all SAP and other non-SAP software applications used at Smith & Wesson, as well as to define, implement and support security administration, access control policies and procedures, and manage privileged access controls. Will support internal and external audit inquiries and be an integral part of ensuring SOX compliance. Work with management to ensure department and company goals are met. Work with personnel, systems, and security effectively to facilitate and meet project deadlines. Work effectively as part of a team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support access control and user security for a variety of SAP environments and other non-SAP applications, working directly with business personnel and other colleagues to maintain and support the client’s development, test, and production systems.
- Design and implementation of SAP security strategy according to business requirements and SAP best practices.
- Design and implementation of application security strategy according to best practices in the IT industry for on premise and cloud-based applications.
- Troubleshoot system authorization issues for SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Actively work with customers to analyze business authorization needs and document business requirements.
- Interface with other functional areas to implement the necessary authorizations for cross-functional solutions.
- Participate in all phases of the system development lifecycle.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree Computer Science with a strong GPA and aptitude for analytical thinking & problem solving.
- Any prior experience with SAP security concepts and administration or user access control or security administration for non-SAP systems will be beneficial.
- Any prior experience working in an SAP environment (either full time or part time) will be beneficial.
- Be an active learner that seeks new knowledge and also works closely with users to train them on system functionality.
- Good academic knowledge of software development life cycle aspects and the role that Analysts play in them.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Long periods of sitting are required, as well as long periods of working on the computer.
- May need to be able to lift up to 30lbs on occasion.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
- Normal office environment conditions.
- Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, vibrations, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, industrial lighting, excessive noise, hazards associated with working around moving machinery and work in confined quarters.
- Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection is required when on factory floor.
- Additional (PPE) may be required when a job task is being completed in or around your assigned or in another department, including safety eyewear, hearing protection and safety footwear.
- All employees are required to apply ergonomic principles to all job tasks.
