What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML). CIBC is committed to protect the safety, soundness and reputation of CIBC by reducing the likelihood that CIBC will be used as a vehicle for, or become a victim of, Money Laundering or Terrorist Financing (ML/TF) activities. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s EAML Team, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale mobile projects involving multiple back-end systems. As an Sr application developer, you will build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. You’ll contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of enterprise-scale AML systems, work alongside experienced developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams to help implement technical solutions, support production systems, and contribute to technology initiatives that enhance compliance and risk management capabilities. The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking, developing project plans based on appropriate standards and methodology.

How You'll Succeed

  • Application development and support - Develop and maintain components of AML applications, including writing and optimizing SQL queries, assisting with Java or shell script updates, and working with AML tools such as Actimize or ActOne. Participate in the technical implementation of change requests, minor enhancements, and data updates. Conduct basic system troubleshooting, test application fixes, and assist in deployment activities.
  • Collaboration & Execution - Work with senior developers and technical leads to understand requirements and follow established design patterns and standards. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables. Collaborate with QA, infrastructure, and compliance teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement - Stay up to date with CIBC’s technology stack, tools, and security practices. Seek mentorship and feedback to continue improving your technical depth and enterprise delivery capabilities.
  • Design and Development - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities. Design the application's technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Coordinate the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.

  • You can demonstrate experience in: Oracle SQL – creating databases, database objects, writing complex queries or stored procedures, exporting DMLs, DDLs, etc. Hands on Knowledge of Shell Scripting and Java. Great understanding of Autosys, OpenShift, and CI/CD Pipeline. It is an asset if you are familiar with Case Management – ActOne, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) , Unified Data Manager (UDM), and Analytics Intelligence Server (AIS) and AML tools such as Actimize.
