Ocean Spray Cranberries is looking for a Senior Manager, Commodity to join our Procurement team! In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and strategic sourcing of commodities used by our Cooperative. Your focus will be on developing and executing commodity strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and optimizing supply chain efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure uninterrupted supply, manage risks, and achieve cost savings. Additionally, you will manage supplier relationships, maintain adherence to specification requirements, and manage the Commodity team.

A Day in the Life...

  • Build and execute procurement strategy for ingredient materials by performing rigorous, fact-based analysis of sourcing options by commodity including criticality of product to OSC; supply market complexity; cost structures and cost drivers; supply chain analysis; total system costs and other financial analysis; industry leverage points, contract negotiation; and supplier management.
  • Responsible for the implementation and ongoing customization of an integrated procurement strategy that creates and enhances product innovation and overall company competitiveness.
  • Lead, motivate and challenge the sourcing organization to assure a competitive advantage is being delivered by setting objectives/metrics for the group; tracking performance; coaching and mentoring; delivering feedback to the employee.
  • Influence decisions in other functions as they relate to total systems costs; develop and manage supplier and cross-functional relationships.
  • Lead negotiation strategy for cost effective agreements with key suppliers resulting in measurable total cost/quality/service benefit.
  • Source specifications and quality through analysis and specification requirements.
  • Understand and monitor quality issues for food ingredients to maintain OSC standards and specifications.
  • Manage size of spend annually > than $450M.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Affiliations with ISM (Institute of Supply Mgmt.), APICS (Educational Society for Resource Management) or IFT (Institute of Food Technology)
  • Ingredients purchasing experience
  • SAP/Oracle
  • Electronic commerce (i.e., EDI, Internet, etc.) experience
  • Continuous replenishment (CRP) and or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical
  • Negotiation skills
  • Integrated Sourcing Strategy

Education:

Bachelor's or University Degree (Required)

Work Experience:

At least 7 Years of Experience
