TRAINING, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; and either an Associate’s Degree of Arts (AA) or have completed 48 college/university semester units or pass the FUESD proficiency test for this classification; Maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification provided by the district. Maintain CPR and first aid certification as provided by the District. Within the probationary period, paraprofessionals will be expected to participate in District-wide training /supervision and receive a District Certificate of Competence. Under general supervision to perform paraprofessional instructional activities in the Behavioral Intervention (IBI) classroom or Moderate/Severe programs; track student progress through a variety of data collection systems; support students in shaping their behaviors by following specific behavior support plans and classroom management strategies; provide a variety of clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel, and to do related work as required. It is the policy of this District that employment will be offered to the successful candidate contingent upon satisfactory completion of a pre-placement physical, drug/alcohol screening test , fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice and FBI, and a current verification of a negative T.B. test or chest x-ray.
