Compensation:
Pay Range: $81,525 -$132,475/year

Responsibilities
To oversee a various system projects of a highly complex nature for UAB Medicine Payroll. This includes but not limited to UA Health Services Foundation, Ophthalmology Services Foundation, Cooper Green Hospital, UAB Health Systems and working with UAB Hospital Management, LLC, and UAB payrolls, payroll systems, and payroll departments. May require to assemble project team, assign individual responsibilities, identify appropriate resources needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of project. To be aware of system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. To report to amore senior project manager.
To use in-depth understanding of and expertise in payroll systems and business processes to review system changes required to meet institutional, local, state and federal regulations. To research and analyze current systems and/or data needs and to determine appropriate analytical strategies. To translate requests for IT systems and to facilitate the design and implementation of new business and system processes. To coordinate with internal and external IT, hardware/software vendors and senior administration to facilitate the prioritization, analysis, development, testing and implementation of system enhancements and system upgrades.. To communicate and interact with a wide range of personnel to ensure the successful implementation of system changes through the full work cycle. To provide support for system functionality, train staff across the organization and create/maintain system documentation as needed.
.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as UAB Medicine Payroll’s lead to investigate, develop, test and implement new or enhanced systems and determines system impacts. Identifies and analyzes tasks needed to execute projects.
- Identifies, reviews and resolves issues and provides support on various financial systems. Develops test strategies, test cases and test plans for processes based on system requirements.
- Uses advanced skills to retrieve, analyze, store and manipulate large amounts of data either for institution wide subject matter projects or for system capabilities and requirements. Manages, monitors and maintains data integrity and data flow between systems.
- Collaborates with HR, IT, schools and hospital and external entities to meet goals. Ensures reporting ability and compliance with University, local, state and federal agencies.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and lead applications support specialist for financial systems which includes testing, documentation and end-user training. Fulfills reporting and data analysis requests from senior management. Develops methodologies to prepare analyses to address specific questions presented by senior management and or applicable governing agencies.
- Reconciles data between financial systems, supporting applications and external interfaces. Analyzes information to determine, recommend and plan installation of new systems or modification of existing systems. Runs periodic processes to produce data to feed external systems.
- Communicates with customers or other departments on project status, proposals or technical issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
