Pipe Welder Foreman

Job Description

The Pipe Welder Foreman will read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications to determine welding and installation requirements. This role involves welding pipe and structural components using SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) processes, performing layout, fabrication, and installation of piping systems, and ensuring high-quality welding standards for stainless steel and carbon steel piping.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and specifications for welding and installation requirements.
• Weld pipe and structural components using SMAW and GTAW processes.
• Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of piping systems in various positions.
• Weld stainless steel and carbon steel piping systems to high standards.
• Conduct visual and mechanical inspections of welds to ensure compliance.
• Install pipe supports, valves, and related components as per project drawings.

Essential Skills

• Pipe welding expertise using SMAW and GTAW processes.
• Ability to weld stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints.
• Capability to use hand tools, man lifts, platform lifts, and other equipment.
• Completion of a 6G ASME test on 2-inch pipe before starting work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience with large-scale industrial or commercial construction projects.
• Familiarity with pipe welding codes and standards such as B31.3.
• NCCER Pipe Welder Certification or equivalent.

Work Environment

Work onsite at various new construction and industrial sites. The schedule is primarily local work from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Initially, travel may be required until more local projects commence around July. Travel will be limited to three-week stints, with per diem provided for travel outside of 50 miles.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
