Mechanical Assembler

Shift: 5AM-3:30PM

Pay: $24-26/Hour

Location: Tukwilla, WA

Job Description

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling electrical mechanical equipment and other sub-assemblies, as well as testing powered suspended access equipment and accessories. This role requires precision and attention to detail to ensure high-quality assembly and functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the assembly of complex components with little or no supervision.
  • Achieve assembly of complex components according to measured cycle time.
  • Conduct fit, function, and testing of assembled components under limited supervision.
  • Utilize required hand tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks according to verbal and written work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test assembled components with limited supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn a range of assembly methods and tasks.
  • Perform 5S daily and continuously work to improve the performance of the work cell.
  • Carry out any other tasks or duties as assigned or directed.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of electrical/mechanical assembly/installation or repair experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret moderately complex assembly drawings.
  • Proficiency in reading tape measures and similar measuring devices.
  • Understanding of written standard work instructions.
  • Capability to read and interpret calibrated equipment used in assembly.
  • Good knowledge of all tools (hand/powered) used in the assembly process.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner with strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical assembly skills.
  • Familiarity with blueprints.

Work Environment

The work environment is a production floor that includes other manufacturing processes such as welding and metal fabrication. The noise level is typically moderate. This role involves working in a tight warehouse with forklifts and trucks moving inside and outside. Assemblers will be working at bench stations with tools and parts around them, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and performing tasks involving bending, reaching, and moving to obtain parts. The warehouse is not insulated and may not be brightly lit. The shift starts at 5 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tukwila, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
