Job Title: Process Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Description

Responsible for completing daily operations of injection molding equipment and tools in accordance with division standard operating procedures to ensure quality and production goals are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Support process and other activities consistent with departmental expectations and goals.
  • Perform tool changes in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Support the building and maintaining of End of Arm tooling, part placement nests, and degate fixtures.
  • Develop skills to make adjustments within process tolerance and recommend changes for improved efficiencies.
  • Continually monitor all processes related to injection molding.
  • Analyze and resolve any processing problems.
  • Assist Molding Process Engineer in resolving product non-conformity issues.
  • Set-up and start-up of new tools and resins for trial.
  • Implement continuous process improvement in the molding department.
  • Adhere to safe lifting practices as outlined in the AIM Systems Safety Manual.
  • Exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in a work environment striving for continuous improvement.
  • Follow company policies and display conduct expected of employees as described in the employee handbook.
  • Follow safety rules and work in a manner that maintains a safe and healthful workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in injection molding, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience processing plastics and setting tools.
  • Knowledge of automation systems and controls.
  • Experience in fabrication, such as fixture building and making water lines.
  • Experience in molding, inspection, die setting, injection mold, and injection molding machine operation.
  • Minimum 2 years of ISO/TS16949 experience; knowledge of ISO14001.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Comfortable with mold setting and process technician roles.

Work Environment

This plant is a plastics assembly facility specializing in fascias and exterior plastics. The environment is clean, though occasionally dusty, and involves interaction with project managers and manufacturing personnel. The facility is launching a new line and adding a 3rd shift to their DS line, responsible for Ram & Wagoneer production. The plant floor is undergoing rearrangements, with five plastic injection machines running consistently and performing 2-3 tool changes per day. The 3rd shift runs from 10pm to 6am, Sunday night through Friday, with Saturdays based on production needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
