Inviting applications for the role of Senior Principal Consultant - NetBackup Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive NetBackup Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise-level backup and recovery systems using Veritas NetBackup. This role ensures data integrity, system reliability, and supports business continuity strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup solutions using Veritas NetBackup.
• Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure successful data backups and recoveries.
• Perform regular system health checks and audits to maintain high availability and data integrity.
• Collaborate with system, storage, and database administrators to develop and refine backup policies.
• Manage backup infrastructure including media servers, storage devices, and cloud-based backup solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation for backup procedures, configurations, and disaster recovery plans.
• Provide 24x7 support for backup and recovery issues as part of on-call rotation.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in data protection and backup management.
• Experience with backup on physical, virtual (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
• Strong understanding of SAN, NAS, and other storage technologies.
• Familiarity with scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Shell, or Python) for automation tasks.
• Good knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies and best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Veritas NetBackup Certification (VCS or similar).
• Experience with other backup tools (Commvault, Veeam, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) in relation to backup and recovery.
• Exposure to ITIL practices and change management processes.
