Job Summary:

The RV Park and Kennel Attendant are responsible for several areas within the RV park and convenience store. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining RV and pet reservations, collecting various types of payment, ensuring a clean environment for both guests and pets, providing property information, and accommodating guest needs through exceptional service.

The Details:

Position Type: Full time year round

Pay: $18.30

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

  • Fully understand and support Xanterra’s Mission Statement, Cultural Pillars, Community Commitment and Core Values.
  • Understands and adheres to GCR/RV Park rules and regulations, this includes all current policies and changes.
  • Understand property information (hours of operations, activities, etc.) and provide accurate information about GCR and Grand Canyon National Park.
  • Receives guest’s request and concerns; and follows up to verify the request or problem has been resolved to the guest’s satisfaction; involve the supervisor as necessary.
  • Displays and practices being a team player while interacting with guests and team members in a positive and professional manner.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures as outlined in the Opening and Closing Checklist, ensuring all details are completed.
  • Completes TIPs alcohol training within 30 days of employment.
  • Acquires adequate experience with company registration and retail sales systems (Opera for RV and Kennel registration and Raymark retail system) within 60 days of starting the position.
  • Follows company money-handling policies and procedures.
  • Efficiently performs guest and pet check-ins and outs (following established procedures), including making reservations in Opera, collecting payments, organizing arrivals and departures, etc. all in a productive manner.
  • Receives and maintains proper records for pets being boarded.
  • Records proper information regarding the care of the pet (feeding, medication, walking, etc.) and follows through with the tasks along with communicating effectively with other staff members regarding the progress.
  • Perform animal care duties for up to 30 pets providing food, and water, administering medication as instructed, and providing play time/ exercise for boarded animals.
  • nswers phones/rings in purchases, registering guests, etc.
  • Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation standards in the convenience store and kennel areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • One year of previous experience in a guest-facing position.
  • Previous knowledge of computers, Point of Sale System/cash handling, and customer service.
  • A valid Arizona Driver’s License and ability to comply with Xanterra/GCR vehicle policy.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age to sell packaged alcohol and operate a golf cart.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish skills are a plus.
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: Kennel, Animal care, RV’s, camping, and retail is a plus.

Physical Requirements include:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is:
  • Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, and wrist motion.
  • Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat, or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 100lbs.
  • Will be required to stand for long periods and to occasionally walk-up flights of stairs.
