About the Role

The Program Manager will oversee the planning & execution of the assigned programs. Lead a multi-discipline team to deliver programs to meet business requirement.

What You Will Do

  • Lead a New Technology Innovation (NTI) process to ensure technology and innovations are identified and verified effectively to de-risk/ reduce uncertainty of upcoming NPI programs implementation.
  • Acting as a key liaison between platform engineering and other partners on all matters pertaining to successful project execution from inception through execution within schedule, budget, and quality
  • Work closely with platform engineering team, internal or external design solution partners and other stakeholders to ensure that product roadmaps and technology roadmaps intersect for achieving cost saving and maximum re-use of product solutions.
  • Scope technical feasibility of new platforms, algorithms or products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads and SW Engineers
  • Driving the development and execution of project plans and schedules; to develop and improve processes for project tracking and risk mitigation.
  • Ownership of resource tracking, status reporting and issue messaging to key partners, including escalation to senior management.
  • Leverage broad technical skills to weigh in on solutions, risks, mitigations and next steps.
  • Leverage your experience in execution to ensure that technology solutions intersect in a proper manner with road mapped programs. Provide a strong perspective on risks for each of those mappings of technology solutions to programs.
  • Effectively communicate progress on your initiatives, identify potential risks and setbacks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Thorough reimagining of how we process NTI projects from concept to delivery, as well as continuous iteration of the said technologies. It's important to have the right process in place for executing not a single technology instance but continuous improvement and continuous deployment (CI/CD). The PM should be familiar with this type of environment and apply Agile development methodologies for SW and HW tech platforms.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, software or equivalent engineering degree desirable.
  • 8+ years of previous project management experience in the mid to high volume consumer products industry.
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills with ability to lead technical discussions.
  • Must be able to multi-task and have both good written and verbal Chinese & English communication skills.
  • Previous experience in dealing with Asia suppliers and global branded customers.
  • Project management experience in the consumer electronic industry is preferred.
  • Requires PC skills using programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Project and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience using automated 'Gantt type' scheduling tools.
  • Previous project budgeting and resources loading knowledge/experience.
  • Software development experience is an asset.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Strong leadership, management and decision making skills.
  • Professional program management certification (PMP) desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively at one time.
