Schedule: Monday through Thursday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

As a Job Development Specialist, you provide personalized 1:1 support in a variety of ways such as screening and assessment, search support, coaching, training, technical assistance, monitoring safety conditions, providing transportation and follow-along support on a daily basis in a community based environment. What you’ll do:

  • Provide assessment, job development, training and technical assistance.
  • Market LIFESPAN employment services to area businesses in order to obtain optimal job matches for individuals.
  • Participate in local and/or regional job fairs.
  • Teach skills to promote job independence.
  • Support community inclusion and integration.
  • Mentor individuals to help build social skills and relationships.
  • Provide follow-along support and guidance.
  • Provide transportation to and from various locations.
  • Assist with person centered job placement.
  • Participate in and provide input for individual’s IHP/IPP (Individual Habilitation/Program Plan)
  • Use electronic health record to document activities and significant events.
  • Submit documentation and payroll data according to scheduled deadlines.
  • Complete initial and ongoing training, and participate in staff development activities.

What you need:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Pass criminal record and healthcare registry check
  • Pass driving record check if providing transportation
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Associate’s degree and/or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Communication, Business, or Human Services and/or related field with a minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, and three to five years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Route Territory Sales, Account Management, or Business Development is preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Commitment to achieve competency in required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Note: Current First Aid/CPR blended or classroom certification is required. If you do not currently have certification from an approved provider, our American Red Cross certified instructors will provide you the training.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently (per policy)
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours including nights. Weekends and overtime as required.
