Description

The Kentucky Department of Education, Office of Career & Technical Education, Barren County Area Technology Center in Glasgow, KY has an opening for an Information Technology Instructor.

This position will be filled through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The applicant selected for this position must be an employee of a Kentucky local school district.

This position is advertised as part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE for employment through the Office of Career and Technical Education. It is not subject to the provisions of KRS 18A for classified or unclassified service

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Salary: Dependent on rank and experience

Applicants and employees in this classification may be required to submit a drug screening test and background check.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught;

OR

Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught;

OR

Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): In accordance with KRS 161.220 the applicant selected for this position will become a member of the Kentucky Teacher’s Retirement System Mandatory CompTIA A+ Certification. Cisco Academy Instructors are also required to obtain the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and the Cisco Certified Academy Instructor (CCAI) within two years.
