  • Term: There are two (2) positions available. One position will be offered on a fixed term, full-time basis for six (6) months, and the second position will be offered on a fixed term, full-time basis for two (2) years.
  • Remuneration: $120,443 to $131,749 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $101,775 to $111,330 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)
  • Open to: Applicants who have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the fixed-term appointment. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Instructional Designer (2 Positions Available) to join Learning and Teaching Unit, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Instructional Designer is responsible for supporting the Faculty of Health to implement the University’s strategic plans including the delivery of high quality curriculum in medicine aligned with QUT’s Real World Learning Vision and Quality Standards for Learning and Teaching. You will be an essential member of the Curriculum Design Studio team that supports faculties to design, develop and deliver high-quality learning and assessment resources for face-to-face, blended and online delivery using innovative pedagogical theory.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four years relevant experience in instructional design preferably in a medical education field; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  2. Proven ability and experience in incorporating adult learning theory and instructional design methodology into the development of quality learning experiences across a range of delivery modes.
  3. Proven experience in the design and development of quality educational resources and interactive digital media to align with achievement of learning outcomes at course and unit level.
  4. Demonstrated ability and experience in the identification and application of technologies including supporting and building the capabilities of academic staff in the use of technologies.
  5. Proven high level organisational skills, the capacity to work independently as well as part of a team, and to prioritise and complete tasks in a changing environment with competing demands.
  6. Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
