Job Description:

BW Converting is seeking an experienced and driven Assembly Team Leader to lead a high-performing team in the mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assembly of complex industrial machinery. This role is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the assembly process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor assembly team members to optimize efficiency, product quality, and cross-functional skill development.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, driving standard work practices and identifying process enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve non-conformances through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Identify and recommend capital investments in tools and equipment to enhance assembly capabilities.
  • Monitor and forecast production activity to meet monthly business and financial targets.
  • Coordinate closely with Maintenance to plan and execute preventive maintenance for assembly-related equipment.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment, promoting safety best practices and immediate correction of hazards.
  • Support rapid response initiatives to meet evolving customer requirements.
  • Reviewing customer quotes and assigning assembly labor hours.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or trade school certification preferred.
  • 3 + years of experience in machinery or equipment assembly.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or team lead role in a manufacturing setting.

Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical assembly.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, routings, and technical specifications.
