Job Description

This role is vital to supporting the mission of the Quality Assurance Center of Dublin, OH, by ensuring that products are safe and meet regulatory requirements and quality expectations. The Associate Customer Service enhances the laboratory and Customer Service & Marketing Department by providing efficient customer support services and facilitating the resolution of deviation issues. The role involves preparing paperwork for sample shipping, monitoring results from external laboratories, maintaining shelf-life programs, and handling deviated samples with great care.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively by presenting ideas, actively listening, and collaborating across functional boundaries with customers and coworkers.
  • Conduct timely and accurate reviews of sample analysis information requests.
  • Create external sample analysis request forms and shipping paperwork promptly.
  • Monitor pending results for external laboratory analyses to ensure quick turnaround for customers.
  • Resolve deviations between laboratory and customers.
  • Research and timely resolve customer inquiries through email and phone calls.
  • Send and resolve micro laboratory deviations between the customer and the microbiology laboratory.
  • Resolve customer submission issues through SAP, Web, and Manual communication.
  • Ensure proper handling of shelf-life pulls, storage, disposal, and sample submissions.
  • Support resolution of Customer Service emails and phone calls.
  • Lead small improvement projects or participate in large departmental or cross-functional process improvements.
  • Initiate corrective actions for quality or customer issues and update SOPs when appropriate.
  • Train other employees on analytical functions, demonstrating proficiency in the tasks.
  • Maintain functional knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and update SOPs, forms, and training records as necessary.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with coursework in Sciences
  • Some exposure to food processing or Quality Assurance
  • Experience working in or with an analytical laboratory is preferred

Work Environment

The work environment involves spending 50% of time at a desk and 50% in the lab, pulling and retrieving samples. Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.27 - $23.27/hr.
