Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer for a Platform as a Service position, offering the opportunity to advance cutting-edge technology supporting vital national defense and intelligence services. This role involves close collaboration with customers to develop solutions for high-stakes security missions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team including hardware, software, and cybersecurity experts.
• Communicate software solutions and designs to medium and large teams of software engineers.
• Manage infrastructure ecosystem PaaS, troubleshoot, and integrate SWFTS.
• Resolve complex issues and conduct research spikes.
• Support DevOps and CI/CD processes.

Essential Skills

• Strong Kubernetes skills including disconnected installation, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience with OpenShift, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and other container orchestration/PaaS technologies.
• Solid bash and Python scripting experience.
• Strong Red Hat Linux Administration
• Experience with generating and troubleshooting scripts (bash, python, perl).
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware problems.
• Experience with Kickstart creation and modification.
• Experience with configuring network-related hardware.
• Technical communication skills and organizational skills.
• Real-time containers and orchestration.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field required.
• 7+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree plus 5 years of experience.
• Agile or SCRUM experience required.
• Past leadership experience or readiness for leadership.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at the time of hire.
• Certification in Kubernetes (CKA).
• Certification in Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Experience with AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System.
• Implementation and troubleshooting experience with virtualization technologies like KVM.
• Excellent communication skills; effective presenter with both internal and external audiences.
• Strong knowledge of technology trends and ability to champion new ideas and improvements.
• Creative thinking and ability to multitask effectively.

Work Environment

This position is onsite in Manassas with the option for a 9/80 schedule. The role involves working on the Platform as a Service team and guiding engineers through complex assignments.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $76.00/hr.
