The NM State Land Office has a Non-Emergency Telework Policy, which allows eligible employees to telework up to twenty-four (24) hours a week consistent with the agency's business needs.

The core mission of the New Mexico State Land Office (NMSLO) is to responsibly generate revenue through a wide array of leasing activities on state trust lands on behalf of public schools, universities and hospitals. Independently or with a team perform the development of new or improved applications, process or techniques to support the web and .NET systems for the New Mexico State Land Office. The incumbent will assist and lead efforts in the definition, development and operation of key computer systems for NMSLO utilizing programming skills (C#, SQL, Studio.NET, TFS, etc.) on Microsoft platforms. Assist in planning long term IT strategy. Support IBM FileNet imaging process and scanning systems. Write and review technical documentation for supported systems.
Working with other NMSLO IT professionals and business customers, as assigned, capture/document system requirements through interviews and interaction with business customers. Research the gathered requirements and match them to existing systems or to a need for new systems to meet the requirements. Estimate scope of work, validate with end users and prepare design documentation and planning, develop and code system solutions, test and validate results, migrate completed system to production and provide maintenance support for developed systems. Research and provide direction to technologies deployed and utilized in web and .Net systems. Mentor and cross- train with team members.
Internal: Oil, Gas, and Minerals Division; Administrative Services; Commercial Division; Legal Division; Surface Resources Division; and executive State Land Office management officials (Office of the Commissioner).
External: New Mexico public schools, universities and hospitals; individuals; general public; lessees (agricultural, oil and gas companies, commercial, rights-of-ways); natural resource authorization users; program enrollees; hunters; other government entities (state, federal, city, county, tribal).
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and four (4) years of experience in software programming. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
