POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Change Management Analyst is responsible for coordinating, assessing, and supporting the implementation of changes to IT systems, services, and infrastructure in a controlled and efficient manner. This role ensures that all IT changes are properly evaluated, authorized, documented, and communicated to minimize risk and disruption to business operations. The analyst works closely with technical teams, service owners, and stakeholders to enforce change management policies and procedures, maintain records, and monitor the effectiveness of change initiatives. The position plays a key role in maintaining service reliability and aligning change activities with organizational objectives and compliance requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • EDUCATION
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • CERTIFICATION:
    • Relevant certifications such as ITIL Foundation (or higher), PMP, or Prosci Change Management Certification are preferred.
  • WORK EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in IT service management, change management, or related IT operations roles preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Solid understanding of IT change management principles, frameworks, and best practices (e.g., ITIL)
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and operations to assess the impact and risk of proposed changes.
  • Skilled in process documentation, reporting, and the use of dashboards and metrics to evaluate change effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate change requests, identify risks, and recommend mitigations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, project managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess and balance business needs, technical feasibility, and risk when reviewing changes.
  • Ability to enforce compliance with established change management policies while supporting flexibility and innovation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Coordinate and manage the end-to-end IT change management process, ensuring changes are assessed, approved, documented, and implemented effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of change requests, approvals, implementation details, and post-change outcomes in the ITSM system (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
  • Monitor and report on change success rates, trends, and compliance with established change management policies and SLAs.
  • Communicate scheduled changes, outages, and potential impacts to relevant stakeholders in a timely and clear manner.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, project managers, and business units to ensure proper planning, testing, and coordination of changes.
  • Identify and help resolve issues related to unauthorized or failed changes, working with technical teams to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement of the change management process by gathering feedback, refining workflows, and aligning with ITIL or other frameworks.
  • Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person or virtually and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours, and as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative

Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 15 or more pounds on a frequent basis.

Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work independently; work indoors.

Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret and apply information at a moderately complex level essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgement and the ability to process information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Will require travel to multiple sites.
