You will be the Software Engineering Manager for the F-35 Mission Planning Environment (MPE) Software Team. Our team is responsible for developing the Mission Planning Software for the F-35 program.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible guiding a team of engineers through the full software development life cycle, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that support the F-35 warfighter. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of engineers in several cross-functional teams through the full software development life cycle, from design to delivery, initially focused on CNI, Sensors, and Weapons support for Mission Planning.
  • Fostering a culture of Agile development, promoting continuous improvement and innovation
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure product integrity and quality
  • Assisting in Cost, Schedule, and Quality (CAM) activities
  • Developing Basis of Estimate (BOE) for future contracts
  • Managing workforce planning, including re-assignments, placements, recruitment, and terminations
  • Providing personnel management, including training, mentoring, career development, performance, and compensation management

This role requires exceptional leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM discipline, Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred
  • Software Engineering Management or Software Engineering Team Lead experience
  • Software development experience
  • Agile development experience

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Mission Planning
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, OOA/OOD
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket) and Gitlab
  • Experience with Process Improvement and Affordability initiatives
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD principles, including test automation
  • Experience with Model-Based Engineering (Cameo)
  • Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) experience
  • Basis of Estimate (BOE) development experience
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Experience preparing and delivering briefings to leadership

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years
