CHG is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Provider Digital Experience (PDE) team. As an SDET on the PDE team you will be a key part of an amazing team building cutting edge, customer-facing applications and features for our physician portal. As a Software Development Engineer in Test you will be an advocate for world-class quality, driving best practices for automated testing while assisting with architecture and development for the software engineering organization. You’ll have a dedicated leader focused on your individual growth and development and will work on a collaborative engineering team with opportunities to share in mentoring and coaching. This role will report to Nate Canen.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with quality assurance, software development, and product management to ensure the creation of quality products that meet customer needs
  • Design, maintain, and improve testing, automation, monitoring, and quality automation at various phases of the software development lifecycle (e.g., integration test suite, regression test suite, smoke test suite, production testing, etc.)
  • Help monitor and investigate issues to identify root causes and insights to improve software quality
  • Organize exploratory, automated, and other testing efforts for comprehensive test coverage
  • Research solutions for scaling and improving performance
  • Provide mentoring and technical leadership to members of the team

Qualifications

  • Passionate about automated testing and quality assurance with strong understanding of SDLC
  • Proficiency in software development (specifically JavaScript) with the ability to pick-up new languages
  • Proficiency in one or more modern application frameworks (Node.js, React.js, Vue.js)
  • Proficiency in one or more testing frameworks (Unit Testing, Playwright, Appium, etc.)
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Passion for quality, test automation, and continuous improvement
  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision making
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, including good technical writing and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to mentor others

Education & Experience

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline preferred
  • 3+ years of professional experience as an SDET/Software Engineer

Preferred

  • Experience as a Software Engineer
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD
  • Experience designing and building microservices, web frontends, and RESTful APIs
  • Experience designing and maintaining load/performance tests
  • Experience with accessibility & security testing

We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $81,400 -- $220,700 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. During the hiring process, your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for the job location.

CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
