At AWS, the Global Deal Strategy and Programs (GDSP) team drives cloud adoption and business growth through innovative pricing strategies. The organization comprises two specialized teams: Strategic Customer Engagements, which guide ** transformative deals with industry leaders, and Private Pricing Programs & Experiences, which scales and optimizes pricing solutions across our diverse customer base. Within GDSP, you will develop deep expertise in cloud economics, hone your strategic thinking, and directly impact AWS's market leadership while working with cutting-edge technologies and global clients.

The Private Pricing Programs & Experiences (3PX) team, as part of the AWS Global Deal Strategy and Programs (GDSP) organization, is responsible for the Global Proposal Team and Private Pricing Program. The Proposal Team enables AWS pursuits by developing and providing pursuit best practices, mechanisms, and resources. Through crafting exceptional customer proposals and documents in response to RFx (Request for Information [RFI], Request for Proposal [RFP], etc.) needs, the team aims to consistently deliver the highest quality service and attention to detail.

As a Sr. Manager of the Proposal Team, you will have the exciting opportunity to be part of and build a growing team, who lead our effort to deliver game-changing solutions to key AWS prospects and customers. Your responsibilities will focus on recruiting, hiring and developing a team who will deliver Enterprise-caliber proposal management, technical writing experience, and leadership necessary to effectively support a high growth business. You will set performance goals and metrics, timelines and a formal tracking process to measure and manage progress. You will manage a portfolio of projects staffed by our team of proposal managers.

We are seeking a manager with exceptional organizational skills, prepared to deliver operational excellence in a high-volume environment, with multiple stakeholder teams in a fast-paced and dynamic industry. You should be able to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions in a written context.

In this role you will bring experience with demonstrated communication skills and ability to prioritize effectively to ensure timelines are met in an ever changing, fast paced business environment. You should be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative (while still paying careful attention to detail). You focus on delivering measurable results, and with those results clearly communicated to stakeholders. You are a writer that can clearly communicate complex topics to a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders. You proactively work to improve the consistency and integration between your team’s solutions and any related systems or artifacts.

Key job responsibilities

Build, transform and lead the proposal team owning the end-to-end lifecycle of RFx deliverables.

Hire and develop talents; provide ongoing coaching, motivate, train the team.

Collaborate with stakeholders on key initiatives.

Develop and build an organizational structure that aligns the talent to the strategic objectives for the group.

Proactively identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and scalability, continuously improving the team's capabilities and output.

Pioneer the integration of cutting-edge technologies, into existing operational workflows, to drive continual innovation for improved customer experiences across mechanisms.

Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and success of analytics initiatives, regularly reporting on progress to stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of team management experience, hiring and managing high performance teams.
  • Experience in technology related sales, cloud and/or business development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification
  • Experience working with, and/or having knowledge of cloud computing and existing cloud technologies
  • Advanced Salesforce.com experience including the development of dashboards and reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $174,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
