The employee functions as a first-line professional manager of professional positions in a complex work area. This position
is responsible for the management and oversight of the Building Intelligence System Controls and Fire Safety Services
teams, ensuring operational excellence, system reliability, and compliance across a wide array of complex systems. This
position will lead and supervise a team of highly skilled analysts and technicians, responsible for the installation, operation,
maintenance, and repair of sophisticated electronic building automation, energy control, and fire safety systems. Key
responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance and operation of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, pneumatic
controls, electric/electronic automation systems, and associated networks. The role ensures the seamless integration of
these systems, optimizing the performance and efficiency of a facility while supporting and enhancing operational
capabilities.
This position will also be responsible for supervising the 24-hour monitoring and control functions, ensuring that the
systems operate continuously and without interruption. A key aspect of the role is the ability to quickly learn and proficiently
use the state-owned Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order management, tracking, and
reporting. This position will foster strong, collaborative relationships with Facilities Managers and Supervisors, labor, and
trades staff, driving exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The role also
involves ensuring that all DTMB facilities are unified under a single, cohesive control platform, promoting consistency,
standardization, and streamlined operations across the entire Building Operation Division portfolio.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certifications
Alternative experience qualifications of nonprofessional experience, previously identified by the appointing authority and approved by Civil Service, will be accepted as a substitute for the required classified, professional experience for the classification. The nonprofessional experience must be related to departmental programs and services that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Individuals appointed must possess the department-specific alternative experience for positions within that agency only.
