Job Description Summary

We are looking for a new Reprocessing Specialist to join our team, working from either our location in Herlev, Denmark or State College, Pennsylvania, USA.

As a Reprocessing Specialist, you will support engineering projects and ensure compliance with cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization requirements for GE Healthcare ultrasound probes and accessories. You will be part of the Product Quality and Install Base department within the Ultrasound Probes Organization.

Your responsibilities include testing and validating reprocessing methods, preparing regulatory documentation, and collaborating across functions to support product development and market compliance. The role also involves continuous improvement and alignment with internal procedures and external standards.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Planning, executing and documenting tests and validations of methods for cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization for medical devices - maintaining compliant documentation.
  • Contribute to R&D development and product design improvement projects from the beginning to product launch on the market, including planning, providing input to hygienic design, coordinating, and initiating tests, and reporting to ensure documentation for product registration.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners on projects to test and validate for reprocessing methods for new and existing products, leading to implementation of new methods on medical ultrasound products.
  • Cooperate with colleagues in the other functions, including Engineering, Marketing, and Service to support our customers with the latest guidance for all our products.
  • Serve as specialist, contributing with in-depth knowledge and expertise about hygiene, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization as well as understanding of products and processes used in the clinical setting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in processes and up-to-date knowledge about requirements in regulations and international standards within the area of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization for medical devices.

Required Qualifications

The job involves a combination of technical, scientific, and practical aspects. Therefore, we welcome applications from candidates with skills and experience in areas such as chemistry, material science, microbiology, project management and documentation.

  • Degree (M.Sc.) in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or similar relevant education.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience from medical device, pharmaceutical or similar regulated industry.
  • Experience in testing and/or validation for cleaning, disinfection and/or sterilization processes.
  • Knowledge on technologies for disinfection or sterilization and/or microbiological assays for efficacy testing.
  • Knowledge on medical devices and materials (plastic, glues, metals, etc.), hygienic design, and/or product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to writing scientific documentation in English.
