Job Title: CNC Manager

Job Description

A company in Shelby Township, specializing in Powertrain Components tailored for electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine applications, is seeking a CNC Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support existing business and production needs in tool design and process development.
• Write programs for Lathes, Mills, and Robodrill.
• Develop strategies and programs to improve productivity, including tooling, floor management/control, and production trials.
• Ensure safety standards are met and process development is operator-friendly.
• Analyze scrap data and develop strategies for process improvements on the shop floor.
• Lead employee teams to enhance cohesiveness and effectiveness in manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with the quoting team to identify equipment and tooling needs for new programs.
• Support launch activities through equipment and tooling setup.
• Work closely with purchasing to develop a tooling strategy, identify cost reduction opportunities, and maximize value.
• Partner with tooling and equipment suppliers to identify optimal production scenarios.
• Analyze tool usage and tool life to identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide comprehensive support in all facets of turning and milling operations.
• Serve as the technical expert for machining operations.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve tool optimization on the shop floor.
• Train, lead, and develop setup technicians.
• Manage the Preventative Maintenance program for tooling.

Essential Skills

• Ability to lead a team for machine setups, process improvements, and tooling management (Minimum 5 years).
• CNC Programming (Solidworks/AutoCAD).
• Understanding and interpreting CMM reports.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in CNC machining, leadership, and management.
• Proficiency in CNC mill, CNC lathe, and Robodrill operations.
• Experience in tooling and programming.
