Job Description

Join our team as a Material Handler in a dynamic steel distribution center where you will play a crucial role in shipping and cutting metal coils. You will gain comprehensive knowledge of warehouse operations, including cutting, operating an overhead crane, building skids, packaging, and assisting with machinery. This role offers the chance to learn every aspect of receiving and shipping steel products.

Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane and sit-down industrial forklift.
• Utilize saws and cutting mechanisms for coils.
• Read and interpret work orders accurately.
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
• Be flexible and adapt to all assigned duties.
• Start each day with production goals for processing, cutting, packaging, quality control, and bundling before shipment.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in material handling and warehouse operations.
• Ability to use a tape measure and perform precise measurements.
• Experience as a crane operator and forklift driver.
• Familiarity with RF scanners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment.
• Experience with quality control and attention to detail in measuring metal products.
• Overhead crane experience is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.07 - $26.07/hr.
