Job Description

Join a world leader in piezoelectric materials technology as an Inspection Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet customer and internal requirements, documenting test and inspection results, and communicating findings proactively. You will be a part of a dedicated team delivering custom solutions across various industries including Medical Ultrasound, Semiconductor, and Industrial sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain equipment used in the production process to assess quality levels of products.
  • Plate a variety of parts according to blueprints using manual methods and complete all associated paperwork.
  • Assist in troubleshooting plating problems.
  • Review work orders or schedules established by team leaders and understand process sheets/blueprints.
  • Process parts through plating, passivation, or cleaning lines as required by process specifications.
  • Perform fine manipulation and racking of products weighing approximately 10 pounds.
  • Log all procedures as dictated by plating specifications in corresponding log books, including electroplating, passivation, and pickling.
  • Calculate the surface area of parts to be plated or cleaned and apply current density according to plating specifications.
  • Operate measuring devices such as micrometers and dial gauges.
  • Run products through processes using racks or barrels in accordance with plating specifications.
  • Work with chemicals including sensitizers, activators, cleaning chemicals, and acids.
  • Set up fixtures, racks, and barrels using historical data and logs, with support from team leaders and lab technicians.
  • Work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Exercise proper waste disposal under the guidance of team leaders and lab technicians.
  • Participate in lean and 5S+ activities as required.
  • Follow shop environmental and safety procedures, including using proper personal protective equipment at all times.

Essential Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with data entry and recording quality assessments of products.
  • Working knowledge of standard inspection techniques and practices.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and inspection microscopes.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing and machining of ceramic or metal materials is a plus.
  • Experience machining and inspecting tight tolerance complex geometries to part drawings is a plus.
  • Proactive and driven to continually assist in the improvement of our quality system.

Work Environment

Candidates will be working in a clean and well-organized manufacturing facility, which is climate-controlled. The role requires physical capability to manipulate parts weighing up to 50 lbs. The work schedule is 1st Shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of State College, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
