Job Description

As a Deburring Machine Operator, you will be responsible for removing burrs from plastic and metal gearing using a variety of tools such as brushes, red wheels, and files. Your role is crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of the gears.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand job traveler work instructions for deburring processes.
  • Utilize various methods to remove burrs from gears, including filing and brushing.
  • File parts on the lathe accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate a buffer to achieve desired finishes.
  • Understand machinery capabilities and limitations.
  • Accurately fill out all necessary paperwork and count parts.
  • Input time per job correctly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Handle parts with care to prevent damage.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in deburring, especially in a skeleton crew environment.
  • Previous industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of all departmental machine capabilities.
  • Material handling skills.
  • Ability to grasp parts against the burr wheel.
  • Capability to perform visual inspections using eye loops and other tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.00/hr.
